The horseman Zorro rides again in two boxed Disney Treasure DVDs (Season 1 and Season 2). For all of you vintage TV fans, this one is a must for your collection. Zorro Season 1 contains an introduction by Leonard Maltin. It turns out that Zorro was the first 30 minute TV program and garnered a 40% share back in 1957 when it was released.
Zorro was targeted at a younger audience and always mixed the right amount of action and humor to make it through two 39 episode seasons. These 50+ year old files have been carefully restored to their glory of black and white television days. I dare say that few kids today have even seen a black and white program. Growing up in a time when about 30% of the programs were still black and white, these images take me back to my childhood. The story and action are still as fun and entertaining as it was back in the 1950s.
Also included in the set are the two hour-long episodes that originally aired on "Walt Disney Presents". These ran a couple of years after the cancellation of the show and were planned to be part of Season 3. The bonus disc also includes a 12 minute documentary of the Life and Legend of Zorro.
