Marvel Q&A!

Greetings, and welcome to MasterCollector for our fifth round of questions and answers from Hasbro regarding their various Marvel Comics-related action figure product lines!

As you know, Hasbro is the primary toy licensee for the amazing, incredible, fantastic, uncanny (puns intended) Marvel Comics Universe, which includes such action figure lines as Marvel Universe, Iron Man 2, Spider-Man, and more! They have generously offered to reply to several questions throughout the year. What follows are those posed by MasterCollector for the fifth session:

MC Question #1: Given that smaller-scale figures such as the 4" Marvel Universe line are often originally sculpted in a larger size and then scaled down for production, was the huge Galactus figure which debuted at the San Diego Comic-Con initially sculpted at a 1:1 scale, or was the original sculpt even larger?

MARVELQA: Our entire Marvel Universe line is sculpted 1:1. This includes Galactus.

MC Question #2: The new Marvel Legends two-packs of Valkyrie/Hulk, Winter Soldier/Black Widow, and Deadpool/Warpath sound very cool, and I can certainly see the "themes" of the packs, and I know that fans had a hand in choosing which characters to make, but how was the original list of characters to choose from determined? Some characters have been made as Marvel Legends before, others have not.

MARVELQA: First, we tried to hit many of the fan favorites that have repeatedly shown up on top 10 wishlists. Next, we included some selections that were faves on our team and we wanted to throw into the mix - like Paper Bag Head Spider-Man! Finally, we had several potential characters that had been partially developed but hadn't yet made it into the Legends line.

Perhaps something to look forward to in the future of the Legends line. I also have to say I was surprised to learn that all of the Marvel Universe figures are sculpted at a 1:1 scale. I mean Galactus, sure, but the entire line? That's pretty impressive when you consider those tiny little faces and other miniscule details on the 4" figures!

That's all for this round. Until next time, take care!
